What Is the CIF Price Calculator?

The CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) calculator adds international freight and marine insurance on top of FOB to produce a landed quote before the destination port. CIF is widely used under Incoterms® 2020 for sea and inland waterway transport.

Enter FOB price, freight, and insurance rate to get an itemized CIF total. All processing runs locally in your browser. Pair with the FOB Calculator for a full export pricing workflow.

FAQ

What is the difference between CIF and FOB?
FOB covers seller costs to the port of loading. CIF adds main carriage freight and marine insurance arranged by the seller to the named destination port.
What insurance rate should I use?
Common practice is 110% of cargo value at 0.1%–0.5%. Enter the rate quoted by your forwarder or policy.
Does CIF include import duty?
No. CIF covers to the destination port. Import duty and destination charges are usually for the buyer unless the contract says otherwise.
Can I use this after the FOB calculator?
Yes. Calculate FOB first, then enter that total here with freight and insurance rate.
Is this calculator free?
Yes — free, no registration, and all calculations stay in your browser.
